I for some reason cannot connect to the server. I launch the server an IP of on my LAN. I changed the external IP to in the login.conf file. I changed the IP for the realmlist in the MySQL database to I edited the in the WTF folder so the it has SET portal "". I launch the minimal 31478 client and it gives me an error when I attempt to login. "You have been disconnected. (BLZ51901017)"

I must be missing something simple.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am connecting to the server from my desktop with IP

I have the firewall off on the server so I know i'm not blocking any traffic.

Edit: If I try client version 31478, I never even connect to the bnet server for authentication. I get the BLZ error I mentioned above. If i try client version 31429, I authenticate to the bnet server and see the realmlist. It shows my realm but says incompatible on the population section. Is there an updated bnetserver application I need to run?

Edit2: I loaded the server on my local PC and defaulted all IP's back to I cannot connect with my client. It must be something with a setting in my client or the launcher I am using. Does anyone have a link to a minimal or full client for 31478 that I can download?

Networking for Legion

Its the same as in the first Guide, but Legion requires a little bit more :

You need to open 4 TCP Ports for that.

These Ports are :

1119, 8081, 8085, 8086

The Database editing is the same as in the first Guide.
But in addition, you need to edit your login.conf

Open it and find these lines :

LoginREST.Port = 8081

Edit "LoginREST.ExternalAddress=" to your external IP/DNS.

Every Client needs a patched wow.exe - the retail.exe wont read the portal out of the clients
